Networking and Social Events

Networking and social events are an essential part of the AABSDP conferences.

Made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, these evening and post-conference events provided delegates with a valuable and enjoyable opportunity to exchange views in an informal setting.

The 2016 social programme showcased some of the best that Sharm el-Sheikh and Egypt had to offer.

...the perfect mix of presentations
and informal get-togethers

Day 1 : Sunday 20 November

The Forum opened with a welcome reception, made possible with the generous support of Crane Currency. This popular social event offered delegates their first opportunity to meet each other while exploring the latest innovations in the dedicated supplier exhibition.

Day 2 : Monday 21 November

Our second social event introduced us to the best culture and cuisine that Egypt has to offer, in an open air, themed-evening sponsored by De La Rue.

Day 3 : Tuesday 22 November

Jointly sponsored by Giesecke & Devrient and Louisenthal, our third social event took place on a private beach overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea. Just after the sun set, delegates enjoyed a great barbeque of fresh meat and seafood followed by African-themed entertainment, live music and dancing.

Day 4 : Wednesday 23 November

The Gala Dinner was a special evening bringing together all delegates one last time, for some fine dining and cabaret entertainment, organised with the kind support of SICPA.

Day 5 : Thursday 24 November

Visit to Cairo

All delegates were invited to join the Central Bank of Egypt for a tour of Cairo. Buses left the hotel early for a very full but unforgettable experience.

  • Delegates were met off the plane in Cairo and driven by private transport to the Central Bank of Egypt Printing Works for a tour of the facility, sponsored by KBA-NotaSys.
  • Next, the dedicated transport took delegates to visit the nearby pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx – an unforgettable experience.
  • Lunch was taken on the coaches in this action packed day to enable adequate time to view the world renowned exhibits, including those of Tutankhamun, at the Cairo Museum. Another unforgettable experience.
  • After time to relax at the Hyatt hotel, to end this eventful day delegates enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Nile.
